The Foundation programme at AIMST University is tailored to provide a multitude of opportunities for you to pursue a career of your dreams. The programme equips the students with adequate academic knowledge and skills needed for success at AIMST and beyond. To ensure a high quality programme, the School has an advisory panel comprising of selected faculty members and external experts to assist in its curriculum development and the formal assessment of its courses.
At AIMST, we acknowledge that the most able students are those who have developed a good command of the English language and communication. In recognition of this, we place emphasis on the use of English as the medium of instruction aiming to produce students who are fluent and confident. The Foundation programme has three annual intakes commencing in March, April and July. On successful completion of the foundation programme, you may choose from the following undergraduate courses depending on your academic performance and interest.

FACULTY OF MEDICINE
Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery(MBBS)
The AIMST University medical programme is modern and innovative. It is modeled on the clinically integrated curriculum followed by major medical schools in the United Kingdom and also incorporates local requirements stipulated by the Malaysian Medical Council. The 5-year programme is conducted entirely within the State.
Master of Science (M.Sc) in Human Anatomy
AIMST University now offers a Master of Science (M.Sc) in Human Anatomy. This innovative programme provides solid foundation in human anatomy as a basis for teaching, as well as basic and applied research. It considers all aspects of human anatomy and incorporates local requirements as stipulated by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency.
This programme has been developed to provide postgraduate training in human anatomy and is intended for students graduating from life sciences and related disciplines who wish to extend their knowledge of anatomy and / or who wish to pursue a career in the anatomical sciences.
Master of Science in Medical Physiology
AIMST University now offers a Master of Science in Medical Physiology. The programme is designed to enable graduates to acquire and demonstrate: Acceptable level of understanding of the structure and functioning of the human body, aptitude for research in a field related to the discipline of medical physiology, aptitude to teach physiology to undergraduate students in the professions and for pursuing evidence-informed physiology education, high standards of professional conducts and aptitude for continuous professional development.
Master of Science (M.Sc) in Medical Microbiology
AIMST University now offers a Master of Science (M.Sc) in Medical Microbiology. Master of Science in Medical Biochemistry
AIMST University now offers a Master of Science in Medical Biochemistry that is purely research based. This programme is designed to train graduates to demonstrate:

FACULTY OF DENTISTRY
Bachelor of Dental Surgery
The five-year BDS programme is a professional course to educate and train students to become dental practitioners. Dentistry is the second health science programme to be introduced at AIMST. The course uses a modern approach to dental education based on the best educational practices in dental schools in Malaysia and overseas.
The BDS degree will conform to international standards. A highly professional faculty with strong research base, and fully conversant with the needs of students to be a professional workforce, has been hand-picked to deliver the BDS programme.

Bachelor of Dental Technology
The Dental Technology programme is the first ever kind of bachelor degree in Malaysia. It is a professional course designed to coach and to nurture the students to equip as skilled dental technologists. The programme aims to develop dental technologists with foundation knowledge to work effectively as a part of the dental team for the planning, designing and fabrication of various dental prostheses like complete dentures, removable partial dentures, fixed dental prostheses, and other intra oral appliances like orthodontic appliances etc.
The basic biomedical sciences within this programme will be taught in the school of medicine. The technical learning will be carried out in the school of dentistry and dental hospital. The students of dental technology will be integrated with the undergraduate dental students for some elements of course to ensure effective teamwork throughout their dental profession.

FACULTY OF PHARMACY
Bachelor of Pharmacy
This program is structured with a comprehensive of basic bioscience subjects such as Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry and Microbiology as well as Pharmaceutical Technology, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy.
The curriculum also includes elective subjects such as geriatric pharmacy, veterinary pharmacy, drug modelling, pharmacoeconomics and alternative medicine. In addition to the technical subjects, students are also required to enrol in University courses in the humanities and English. Industrial and hospital training is also an integral part of the programme.

This program leads to specialization in various aspects of pharmaceutical research, which is an integral part of the drug discovery and drug design processes.
Core subjects are the fulcrum of the programme in conjunction with the research activities. Written and oral communication skills; conducting practice-based research with a thesis are the hallmarks of this programme.
In first semester the programme covers theoretical sections in the subjects of introductions (pharmacy core papers) and biostatistics. In the second semester the programme students have to take a project that are aimed to develop and exploring the knowledge on drug discovery process.

Diploma in Nursing

Bachelor of Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession that assesses, diagnoses, treats, and works to prevent disease and disability through physical means. Physiotherapists are experts in movement and function who work in partnership with their patients, assisting them to overcome movement disorders, which may have been present from birth, acquired through accident or injury, or are the result of ageing or life-changing events.
Physiotherapy can help recover from injury, reduce pain and stiffness, and increase mobility. Diploma in Physiotherapy
As one of the universities in Malaysia recognized for producing ‘job ready’ graduates, programmes offered at the AIMST School of Physiotherapy provide a gateway to a rewarding career. The fully accredited course offers a formal curriculum that contains all of the elements required for professional accreditation by the Malaysian Qualifying Agency (MQA). Graduates of this course are also eligible for membership in the Malaysian Physiotherapy Association (MPA).
Physiotherapist students undertake a comprehensive programme of physiotherapy skills, behavioral and health sciences and professional development. This is expedited by intensive clinical education experiences. Throughout the programme, emphasis is placed on the importance of evidence-based clinical practice and the use of ongoing research in physiotherapy, therefore developing and building student research skills for use in professional practice.

FACULTY OF APPLIED SCIENCES
The Faculty of Applied Sciences (FAS) was the second Faculty to be set up at AIMST. It has set its goals to promote cutting-edge multidisciplinary programmes in which are infused the elements of innovativeness and technopreneurship designed to enhance market competitiveness.
Currently, the Faculty has only one department, which is Department of Biotechnology. Under this department, FAS offers its own three-year degree programme with honors i.e. BSc (Hons) in Biotechnology (BT). In addition to BSc course, Master of Science (MSc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biotechnology (by research) are also offered by FAS through Department of Biotechnology. Postgraduate programs are becoming popular among the students and the numbers of students are increasing every year.

MSc in Mobile, Wireless & Satellite Communications
This programme offers necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to effortlessly integrate graduates into the mobile, wireless and satellite communication industries of private and government sectors. The programme also incorporates the development of the student’s skills in setting procedures for design, problem solving, report writing, thesis writing and to carry out their research.
Bachelor in Electrical & Electronic Engineering
The Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE) programme is provided to cater the diverse areas such as in power generation, transmission and distribution, automation, traction and electronics. The course in electronics and communication engineering covers a wide range of topics such as electromagnetic fields and transmission lines, analog and digital communication, antennas and microwave engineering. Students who are interested in electrical and electronic engineering should have interest in mathematics and technical subjects and also able to think logically.

AIMST’s Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering offers the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to graduates which are required by Electrical and Electronic industries.The programme also offers 3 months industrial training as part of the programme.
The course structure of the diploma programme are framed such that students upon graduation (with CGPA ≥ 2.0) can enter second year of AIMST’s B.Eng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Doctor pf Philosophy in Management
The objective of the doctoral programme is to provide the graduate students an opportunity to enhance their knowledge through independent research in selected branch of management in a disciplinary or multidisciplinary field. The focused research and training in the programme will enable the graduate students to be competent in handling basic or applied research in their chosen specialities.

Master of Business Administration (Health Care Management)

BSc. (Hons) Accounting and Finance
The BSc. (Hons) Accounting and Finance degree programme offered at AIMST University is a-three-and-half year duration period. The program provides a solid grounding in all principal areas of accountancy and finance including conventional areas of financial accounting and reporting, managerial accounting, investment analysis and portfolio management, auditing, taxation, law and ethics, corporate finance, managerial economics and business statistics.
This undergraduate honors degree programme was specially designed in line with industry trend and demands from employers and by the accounting profession. The course curriculum is expected to offer a balance of academic theory and real-life problem solving skills using case studies that would be proved attractive to a wide range of industries.
